Bootless was chosen to perform at College of Charleston’s 2014 Lowcountry Cougarpalooza! We will be sharing the stage with 2014 ACM “New Artist of the Year” nominee Brett Eldredge on Wednesday 4/23/14, opening the show with a 45 minute set, playing our original tunes. This event will be held at “The Cistern” outdoor area on campus grounds and will unfortunately be closed to those without student IDs.
Mr. Eldredge is one of the top three finalists in this year’s ACM awards with final fan voting to be held on 3/24/2014. Last year’s winner was the duo Florida Georgia Line. We are looking forward to this once in a lifetime opportunity and very honored to be part of this great event.
Bootless would like to express our thanks to ALL of our friends and family for their continued support of our music.

Yesterday we met with a Christina Pradham, a photographer who specializes in band portraits and live show photography. She took us on a tour of some cool abandoned buildings in Charleston and also various outdoor spots such as Folly Beach. Will post some of her pics soon. Until then, we have a few teaser pics courtesy of Rachel and her cell phone (thanks Rachel!)
On Saturday night we played our first show together at myrtle beach. We were invited to play by our BBFs (best band friends) “the IZM” at their 6th year anniversary celebration held at The Barrel bar and grill.
Since we are more country than metal and more southern rock than modern rock, on the surface it would seem a poor matchup. However we were pleasantly surprised on how well received. we were given many compliments by venue owner and party goers alike, despite having issues with the venues PA system for the first few songs
Kudos to the mean lady in the red shirt seated at the table for being a total meanie. She yelled at one of the patron for blocking her view even though.. hello… it’s a rock show with dozens of people standing. The look on her face when she realized that the person she treated rudely was a member of the band playing next was priceless.
After our set we enjoyed listening to the izm rock the joint with ferocity. We also met some interesting people. One guy happened to be in charge of booking acts at the house of blues. He was impressed with our performance and expressed interest in booking us for shows around myrtle beach cool! Another was a local radio DJ who gave us some good ideas for securing more of the market. Another was a professional vocal instructor who made a point to say she thought our harmonies were great.
Another was a fine gentleman named J*** who gave us very good feedback on our show. He introduced himself as a recording engineer with ties to Nashville. He told us that (and I’m paraphrasing here) that our sound was very tight, enjoyable and caters to a wide demographic. He also said curtis has a great voice and is an excellent songwriter (which of course we know already. some nice compliments to our guitarist were given as well.
After the show it was a long drive back to charleston for some of us. And for all of us, our ears are still ringing from the awesome and energetic IZM performance. well done friends and congrats on 6 yrs together! May there be many more.
in less than a 5 days since our website launch we’ve gained an additional 130 fans (and counting!) and also hugely increased our web traffic and visits to our facebook page. The unprecedented access people have to music artists via social media is a blessing but also a curse because its hard to rise above the internet ‘noise’ and capture someones attention for more than 3 minutes. We hope that our visitors find something in bootless they can connect with and stay with us on our journey ahead. We’ve got some great things planned for 2014 and want to thank all of our fans for their love and support.
We are happy to announce that Bootless is an endorsed artist representing Steve Clayton Inc (http://steveclayton.com/) makers of fine quality custom picks, drum sticks and accessories. We will be ordering some custom picks and drum sticks to us while we’re out touring to support our album.
We’re also working on some business cards / press kits as well as merchandise to have available for shows. Very excited to see the first orders come in.
